Around 1980 or so I was asked to play drums with some friends who wanted to be a band as their Halloween costume for a neighborhood party.  Half of these folks had previous musical experience and the other half was looking for some fun ! I said yes immediately and recruited a friend to play keyboards.  The name of the band was to be

THE FOOD STAMPS

They decided the band would have a punk/new wave leaning so we started picking songs in that vein. It was a lot of fun and we played at an event they called "The Pimps and Prostitutes Ball ". I have a few photos of most of the band members though none of us playing . I also have some songs from a rehearsal that I will be putting up. The party was a great success and we were going to do it again the following year but ended up cancelling it and I will post the cancellation mimeo that was put out in explanation. Please listen in the spirit of fun in which it was made. Check out the additional verse in Steppin Stone that was created by Anne Marie Ciarcia and Bernadette Kelly. Also please note that Una Kelly was also a singer in the band but was not present at the rehearsal which was recorded.
